St.Mikes comes back to win 6-5

St.Mikes comes back to win 6-5 Canadiens blew yet another two goal lead late in the second period to literally hand a short staffed St.Mikes club a game that they never should have won 6-5. "Our team has to learn more about playing as a group said Coach Cameron.

We prepared in practice for this game and we were well aware that St.Mikes were missing three top players and we wanted to take advantage of that, but no we just can't seem to follow a simple game plan. We ended up being lazy in our zone and selfish on offence and it cost us big time. We will make lineup changes for Sunday's game against Hamilton and our veteran players will have to step up and be our leaders. We have been more than patient for our team to make a commitment to team play and team defense.

Our group is a character group and we like them however, they need to understand that the game is a team game with simple team concepts that include the basics of hockey. Simple things like short shifts, pass receiving, dump in's, and finishing your checks. As coaches it's our job to make sure they do these things."

We as coaches take responsibility for how we are playing now and we will do the same later in the year as we are confident we will turn our fortunes around as we move forward towards our goal to win the Division and League overall.

The game saw Alex Galli score two nice goals from the point with Mike Sicilia,Paul Rodrigues and Jason McDonough rounding out the rest of the scoring. McDonough continues to impress everyone with his strong two way play and offensive production (4 goals and 5 assists in five games). Next game is Sunday night against the Hamilton Red Wings at Chesswood Arena.

Come out and support exciting Junior A Hockey as your Canadiens march forward on an innocent climb towards a Championship season.
